ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

►Resolved a game-breaking bug in Owner mode, and identified the issue through playtesting.

►Edited scripts to make it possible for teams to turn a profit via an in-house engine to allow profit in owner mode.

►Developed a new user-facing screen showing which plays they worked on in training and bonus points earned.

I was a tuning designer on Madden’s Franchise mode. My main task was to create new training drills and to update the old drills in skills trainer.  I worked closely with another designer Malik Toppins.  After the drills were created Malik and I would discuss how difficult we wanted the drills to be.

After Malik and I finished creating all of the drills I was given the task to implement a new user-facing screen. This screen shows the player which plays they worked on in training that week. Depending on how well the player did in training will determine how many bonus attribute points they will receive for running the plays.

Contribution: Renamed half of the drills and wrote half of the gameplan descriptions. Malik wrote the other half.

My final task on Madden was to fix the finances in Owner mode. The Owners were not making enough money and went into debt after a few seasons. The Vikings were one of the teams that had the hardest time making money. This was because they had to pay a weekly fee for their new stadium. I tracked the team’s weekly and off-season expenses until I found the reason the team was losing so much money. After fixing a few scripts the team was able to make a profit even when they were paying for a new stadium.
